We’ve differentiated fun and competitive types already, but it’s important to talk about why being a competitive type isn’t necessarily negative. Being competitive means you have a drive to be successful in what you do, and you’re dedicated to your training. But sometimes, it also means you’re abrasive or fail to build relationships with your teammates.
The point here is that competitiveness has a place. Having drive is a great thing and it will take you very far in your sport. Coaches love being around players who care deeply about getting better and winning. But you have to be able to put that mindset aside when it comes to how you deal with others.
