When a coach leaves a program, it changes everything.
It’s tough to become accustomed to a certain way of doing things, and then suddenly have to adjust to an entirely new style under new authority. As players, you have to prove your worth all over again, and that’s stressful. What’s more difficult is trying to build a relationship with the new coach, since you already had one with your old coach.
As someone who has gone through a coaching change at the college level, I know there are some useful things players can do to ease the adjustment:
